Coranda

I created The Social Work Effect to positively promote social workers, and the work we do. The Social Work Effect was also created to educate on a variety of topics such as mental health, self care, etc; share resources and tools, learn from and network with other mental health professionals as much as possible. I’m excited for you to explore the social work world!

  • What university did you attend?
    I attended Alabama A&M University in Normal, AL for both undergrad and grad school.
  • Do you have a BSW and a MSW?
    I do not have a BSW. My bachelor's degree is in sociology with a minor in graphic/design. I did not know much about social work during undergrad until my last year. I met one professor that spoke highly of her MSW degree and I immediately knew I wanted to have a MSW.
  • Why are you licensed in two states and is it hard to manage the CEUs?
    I am licensed in two states because I move around a lot. I was first licensed in Maryland and moved to Texas and I decided to keep both. It is not hard to manage the CEUs. If you visit the Downloads page, I have included a free CEU tracker to help you manage your CEUs as well.
  • What is your work experience?
    I have experience with both children and adults. I have worked for APS, CPS, Foster Care Facility, Geriatric Facility, Medical Care Facility and currently working full-time for the United States Air Force.
